I joined Oakleaf as a recruitment team administrator providing administrative support for the reward and regional teams. After working for Oakleaf for over a year, I began to show an interest in moving into a recruitment position after working closely with consultants, learning more about what the role entailed and seeing the amazing wins my colleagues were achieving. Thanks to the support of senior leadership at Oakleaf, I was able to move from an administrator into an associate consultant role with the reward team. This is my first role in recruitment and the training from Marie has been invaluable and taught me everything I know to date. I have been continuously supported throughout and there is always someone on hand to answer your questions. I am so glad I made the move into a sales position and can’t wait to continue to grow and develop at Oakleaf.

Changing career path can be a daunting prospect for many people, it certainly was for me. Having worked in the golf industry for several years, I found my passion for working with and helping people to develop and improve. This is the passion which pulled me towards a career in recruitment, along with the opportunity to develop and progress within a successful business. The transition, like any, provides challenges as well as countless opportunities. Completing Oakleaf’s Future Talent Scheme gave me an essential core understanding of recruitment and how to be successful. The scheme was tremendously engaging and a lot of fun! Coupled with supportive input and guidance from my fantastic and experienced colleagues, it created a recipe for my success.

Prior to joining Oakleaf, I was focused on pursuing a career in HR. Little did I know how much I would enjoy recruiting for the market instead!

Joining Oakleaf on their first-ever Future Talent Scheme has been an incredibly rewarding experience so far. I have learnt so much in the process, not just about recruitment and HR but about myself too. Being a part of a graduate programme is something I highly recommend doing in the early stages of your career.

Prior to joining Oakleaf, I was working within the property sector; looking for a change of environment and feeling restless in my role. When I heard about the opportunity at Oakleaf to join the future talent scheme and the training available to try a new career path I didn’t look back. The coaching and mentoring has been amazing with constant support and refreshers since joining over a year ago. I really feel I have gained a wealth of knowledge and a chance to progress in my career in such a short space of time and that’s thanks to Oakleaf!

Joining the Future Talent Scheme at Oakleaf has been a joy. Before starting, I had worries about going into recruitment. Everything I had heard seemed to be negative and I really wasn’t sure if it was the right thing for me. But 6 months in, Oakleaf has shown that they do things differently from the rest. I have been supported every step of the way so far and both the job itself and the team I work with make it such a pleasure. I am so glad I gave it a go! I would recommend this to anyone looking to make their way into the business. You learn, you earn and you have a lot of fun.

From early on, it was very clear my interest lay in Data. Which led to me being placed on the Reward & Analytics team. However, while recruitment was not meant for me Oakleaf gave me the opportunity to start in a new role as a Data Coordinator, where I have the freedom to build and showcase my skills. This has eventually led to me being promoted to the Group Data, Integrity, and Reporting Coordinator.

Before joining Oakleaf, I had no prior experience in recruitment so was anxious in beginning my new journey! The Future Talent scheme was the best way in bridging the gap from a recent graduate, into a fully-fledged consultant. With the help of Marie and Vicky I believe I have come a long way in understanding how recruitment works and I would definitely recommend the program to anyone who wants to get into this exciting and rewarding world!

The grad program was highly insightful and enjoyable, learning about the nuts and bolts of the recruitment process and immersing myself in a supportive and enjoyable culture here at Oakleaf.
