Oakleaf Part-Time Team Success!

A big thank you to all that attended our ‘Part Time Networking Lunch’. It was a great opportunity to formally introduce myself and Anna Mason as specialist recruiters within the ‘Part-Time’ space, purely focussing on part-time, agile hiring and job shares for those who are seeking a working arrangement that supports their lifestyles or those wishing to focus on portfolio careers. It was great to see HR individuals of all levels collaborating and sharing experiences around the struggle with employers not offering more part-time opportunities or flexible working to fit in with today’s pursuit of work-life balance. Discussing the challenges people are facing in today’s job market and the way candidates are not afraid to approach clients who are seeking a full-time equivalent, offering them the benefits of having a more experienced hire!

We were super excited to have Katy Fridman, the founder of the Facebook Group Flexible Working for Mums Like Me (Dads Welcome!) come and present to us. Katy set up the group in February of this year and it now has c.14k members. She is a huge advocate and champion of flexible working and supports professionals to find flexible roles by connecting employers and recruiters to talent. A big thank-you Katy, we would love to have you back again! Some great comments………

“It was great to see Oakleaf in a different capacity, to hear Katy’s great presentation and meet like-minded people over a lovely lunch”. LG

“Well-organised, good atmosphere, people mingled well, good amount of time to speak to others and share stories” CH

“A breath of fresh air to speak to like-minded people who are all seeking professional roles whilst juggling a busy lifestyle” AB

We advertise all of our Part-Time opportunities on “The Oakleaf Partnership Part Time Group” on LinkedIn. However, should you be seeking a new opportunity or guidance in today’s market please feel free to contact us directly.

To recap on some of the stats and comments from the presentation:

65% OF FLEXIBLE WORKERS ARE SATISFIED WITH THEIR WORK-LIFE BALANCE, COMPARED TO 47% WHO DON’T WORK FLEXIBLY

81% OF SENIOR MANAGERS BELIEVE FLEXIBLE WORKING INCREASES PRODUCTIVITY

3 IN 5 PEOPLE WHO WORK FLEXIBLY SAY THEY PUT IN MORE HOURS BECAUSE IT’S CONVENIENT TO DO SO

Katrina Stewart – Partner at Oakleaf Partnership

‘The board of Oakleaf Partnership are absolutely delighted with the results and success of our part time business in H1 of our financial year. We welcomed Samantha Boyling at the start of the summer to continue with the success of supporting our flexible working population. We found July and August to be busy, with a number of interim positions on a part-time basis dominating the vacancy list. Candidates relished the opportunity to work flexibly on a number of contract assignments, with the opportunity to work from home.
We are registering on average 3 part-time/flexible HR roles a week across all sectors over the last 3 months. We have noticed an increase in small Financial Services firms looking to hire senior individuals but on a 3 or 4 day week basis. Each day Samantha and Anna are speaking to organizations about top HR talent who need flexibility and promoting their skill set during a full-time search. The response overall has been positive and so we continue to work hard to challenge the 9-5 culture!’

We continue to work with a solid number of key clients, loyal to Oakleaf, who value our professional advice and service levels and we thank them for their continued partnership.
If you keen to know more about our part-time talent pool, or looking for a role offering flexible working please do get in contact with Samantha Boyling or Anna Mason.
