HR Manager/People Operations Manager

My client are headquartered in London, the business has over 120 employees across Europe, the US and Latin America. With ambitious expansion plans, the company is high growth and innovative, focused on customer commitment and quality. Due to this growth, the business is looking for an experienced HR Manager/People Ops Manager to support the Head of HR in creating and building an innovative people function.

Key responsibilities/duties:

  • With the Head of People and Organisational Development, manage all matters relating to HR business partnering far select business units; HR policy; employment law (supported by head of legal); employee engagement; organisation improvement (including cultural change); development; recruitment; learning and development; employee performance management; and employee health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Be proactive and support functional managers to make the best decisions that help us create a successful, smooth-running business and great place to work.
  • On hand to provide guidance to managers and employees on general people queries, policies and processes.
  • Take an active role in the recruitment process, including drafting job descriptions, interviewing and selection of candidates.
  • Be a trusted advisor to managers; working closely with them to identify talent development opportunities and retention risks through succession planning, talent reviews, and the performance management process.
  • Working with managers and their teams identify and monitor training needs and support with the development and roll out of training programs.
  • Proactively anticipate opportunities or issues across the departments and develop innovative solutions to address these.
  • Engage on issues of organisational design to improve departmental structure, process, and workflows in order to help teams operate more effectively.
  • Handling employment relations issues such as grievances and employee welfare.
  • Develop dashboard of meaningful HR metrics to drive ongoing organisational development and talent management planning.
  • Take a leading role in implementing new HR processes and technologies to make the department’s operations more effective and efficient.
  • Promote inspirational leadership by demonstrating Vision & Values, championing a high-performance culture with a focus on successful outcomes.

Key experience/skills:

  • Generalist background with a broad interest across all HR areas.
  • Excellent business acumen and commerciality with the proven ability to understand overall business aims and work within a commercial, growth-focused business.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced growth environment.
  • Ability to build relationships, influence and coach at all levels of a business.
  • Experience in leading and executing people related projects (knowledge of cloud
  • technology solutions and implementation would be desired).
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills coupled with coaching and listening skills.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity; recognises when changing circumstances require new approaches.
  • Solid ER Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation to appropriately advise managers.
  • Able to evaluate and analyse people data and make recommendations.
  • Track record of generating innovative solutions to complex problems.
