We are working on an exciting opportunity for a dynamic HR Advisor to join our insurance client initially on a 6-month contract, with the potential further down the line. This role will be a true advisor to the business from a people perspective and cover all aspects of employee relations, providing key support to managers and working closely with senior HR colleagues to deliver a commercially aligned people agenda.

You will be responsible for managing a variety of employee relations matters, advising on HR best practices, supporting change initiatives, and helping to create a positive, inclusive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and hands-on support to managers on all employee relations issues, including complex cases, such as: grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures, with a strong focus on compliance with UK employment law.
  • Partner with the business on performance management, absence, conduct issues and policy application.
  • Collaborate with senior HR colleagues and managers to drive employee engagement and respond to feedback from surveys and exit interviews.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyse trends, and present insights to senior HR colleagues.
  • Support organisational change processes including restructures, redundancy consultations, and employee transitions under TUPE.
  • Assist in HR due diligence and integration work during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with company policies and culture.
  • Provide generalist HR support as the first point of contact for managers within the division, advising on a wide range of HR queries and initiatives.
  • Analyse and interpret HR data to provide insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Assist on ad hoc projects as required.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations matters.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Financial services or insurance industry experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commercial mindset.
