An international financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join its EMEA HR team. This role is ideal for a proactive, commercially aware ER specialist or HR Business Partner with strong employee relations expertise and a passion for building fair, inclusive, and consistent workplace practices.
This is a high-impact role in a matrixed environment, offering broad exposure across multiple jurisdictions and close collaboration with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, and HR.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a range of complex ER matters across the EMEA region, including performance management, grievances, policy interpretation, and involuntary exits.
- Lead and manage ER cases from initiation through to resolution, ensuring compliance with local laws, internal policies, and best practices.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Legal, and Compliance to assess and mitigate risk, supporting an inclusive and respectful working environment.
- Provide guidance on the employee relations implications of organisational changes, including restructures, M&A activity, and market expansions.
- Support the Regional ER Lead in shaping and executing the ER strategy across the EMEA region.
- Maintain accurate case data using the ER case management system and use insights to inform preventative strategies.
- Review and update ER policies and contribute to their communication and training across the organisation.
- Deliver training to HR and line managers on ER topics including performance management, investigations, and managing change.
- Contribute to cross-functional HR projects and partner with other HR centres of excellence such as Talent, Reward, and HR Operations.
Skills & Experience Required
- Demonstrable ER advisory or case management experience, ideally gained in a regulated, multinational environment.
- In-depth understanding of EMEA employment law and the ability to apply it pragmatically within a business context.
- Experience working in complex, matrixed organisations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong influencing and communication skills, capable of articulating complex issues clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent cases and projects with strong organisational skills.
- Strategic thinker with the confidence to challenge the status quo and propose practical, risk-sensitive solutions.
- Previous experience working in the financial services sector is desirable.
- Familiarity with Workers Councils and/or organised labour frameworks is advantageous.
