Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary HR business partner to R&D leaders, supporting organizational design, talent strategy, and change management initiatives.

  • Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning for the R&D function.

  • Drive employee engagement and retention strategies tailored to technical and scientific talent.

  • Partner with Talent Development to build and implement learning programs that support innovation, leadership growth, and skill development within R&D.

  • Collaborate closely with Compensation, Benefits, and HR Operations to ensure equitable and competitive programs aligned with R&D market benchmarks.

  • Provide guidance on complex employee relations issues, performance coaching, and compliance with federal and state employment laws.

  • Lead HR initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the R&D environment.

  • Support cultural alignment and integration during M&A activity or expansion of R&D capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP or SPHR) preferred.

  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years partnering directly with R&D or technical functions in a manufacturing, biotech, or industrial setting.

  • Demonstrated success in supporting high-performing, innovation-driven environments.

  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and organizational dynamics.

  • Proven ability to influence and build trust with senior leadership.

  • Comfortable working onsite in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and project management skills.
