After graduating from the University of Exeter I joined the graduate scheme at Badenoch & Clark, progressing over 5 years to Principle Consultant, recruiting temps into local government and charity clients.
In 2011 I left to travel extensively through Asia, Australia, New Zealand & America, picking up new friends and recipes as I went! I joined Oakleaf on my return and haven’t looked back. I have built my career here moving through professional and financial services, interim and permanent markets, capitalising on the fantastic support and opportunities that Oakleaf provides.
I currently head up the Professional Services team, personally recruiting for permanent mid-senior HR talent but overseeing both permanent and interim teams who cover from entry-level upwards across consultancies, international and UK legal firms, property and accountancy organisations.
Outside of work, I have renovated a couple of properties, am a keen cook and spend a lot of time chasing my one year old around!

• Grace Lewis highlights, in People Management mavazing, research which suggests that focusing on ‘women on boards’ alone ignores wider talent and gender diversity issues
People management reports that, weighed down by economic crises, and skills shortages, it seems many businesses have been so busy simply trying to survive in an increasingly global market that we’ve forgotten how to adapt and grow at the first sign of an upturn.
Sarah is an experienced and capable HR recruitment consultant, she understands client needs and is very commercial. Oakleaf are one of our preferred suppliers and a big reason for this is due to Sarah being our account manager. Sarah is extremely helpful, can always be relied upon and most importantly knows how to recruit good HR people! She has great customer service skills and has a great balance between being professional but personable and fun.

I have worked with Sarah for a number of years now both as a client and candidate. On every occasion, be it to support me with the recruitment of roles within my organisation or personally helping me to find a role, I have always found Sarah to be extremely helpful and professional. She will always takes the time to understand fully what I am looking for and makes every effort to meet all the requirements. She is always open and honest and a true expert in her field. It has been and continues to be a pleasure working Sarah on a professional and personal basis."

I was very impressed with Sarah’s management of my search for a new role. What stood out for me was the detail and clarity of what S&W were looking for, what hadn't worked in the past for them and the type of approach they wanted to take. She had clearly bothered to do her homework - an obvious thing to do perhaps but not something I've seen done so well and with such understanding. She was clearly looking to place the right person in the right role - not just tick a box. The other noticeable quality was the regular updates, even if it was to say 'no news'. As a candidate this takes out the worry and stress - should I call or not? Do they care? This helps to keep candidates engaged and positive rather than suspicious and stressed! Lastly, the 'aftercare' makes Sarah stand out. The fact that she remembered my start date, emailed me to wish me well and clearly care about whether I am settling is a small thing but helps candidates feel cared for rather than just a 'commodity'.
