I began my early career in fashion at Harrods Department store, where I stayed for three years. After deciding on a career change I moved to HSBC in their flagship branch in 2000. In 2003 I decided to pack up and move abroad to Tenerife where I lived and worked for 3 years.
I started at Oakleaf in April 2007 on a temporary basis and soon joined permanently as London Office Manager. I was promoted in 2008 to become PA to the Founder & Joint CEO - Richard Colgan, while still maintaining all of my Office Manager duties. In 2011 I extended my PA duties further assisting Nicola Grimshaw our Joint CEO.
I had a year out of the business whilst on maternity leave from June 2012 and returned to Oakleaf in May 2013 to take on a new part time role as PSL & Project Coordinator. This was focused on dealing with all of our Tenders for new business and reviewing our PSL & Business contracts and extensions as well as managing small client projects, RFI's and various candidate & client surveys. I went on mat leave for a second time in February 2016 and returned to the business in January 2017. My new role being Head of Research on a part time basis.
I practice yoga every week and am always trying new ways to keep in shape. In 2011, along with colleagues here at Oakleaf, I ran the London 10k raising a substantial amount of money for Macmillan’s Cancer Fund.
Oakleaf are a friendly group of professionals who take a personal interest in helping you to find the right work to match your skills and experience. I have found them to be very proactive when contacting me about potential roles, which has been really helpful as a HR professional just starting out looking for my first contract role. In addition to this I have received support with CV writing, which has been invaluable to enable me to correctly brand myself. I fully recommend Oakleaf as a recruitment agency.
