Last night the Oakleaf Birmingham team welcomed 25 HR professionals to their very first Oakleaf Academy event!
Guest speaker Nicola Hale, HR VP at Carlsberg UK, shared insights about her own experiences as a HR professional and the journey her career has taken. She also shared the journey Carlsberg UK has been on over the last 3 years and the impact the HR team has made on the transformation of the business.
Key learning points from the event included:
- Great HR professionals understand the commercial outcomes of their actions
- They understand the business strategy and what the organisation needs to be successful (the why)
- They can identify what this means for people and the organisation
- They can translate these insight into people plans
- They mobilise and engage others behind these people plans, executing these ideas brilliantly
- Successful HR professionals choose wisely where and how they spend their time
The OP Academy is focused on Emerging HR Talent in the Midlands region, with the programme aimed at ambitious high potential HR professionals in the first few years of their HR career. There are 4 session each with a separate theme, with last night’s event focused on Commercial HR business Partnering.
