Head of Benefits (North America)
Location: Boston or NYC
Work Model: 4 days onsite per week
Rate: $150-$200 per hour
Contract Duration: 6 months +
Our high profile, global client is seeking an experienced Head of Benefits to oversee and enhance its employee benefits programs across North America. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an accomplished benefits professional who can balance strategic planning with operational excellence while leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, design, administration, and continuous improvement of US benefits programs.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of six benefits professionals.
- Partner with senior HR leadership and key stakeholders to align benefits offerings with business objectives.
- Oversee relationships with brokers, consultants, carriers, and third-party administrators.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and related legislation.
- Drive benefits benchmarking, cost optimization, and vendor performance initiatives.
- Lead annual enrollment and employee communication strategies.
- Monitor market trends and provide recommendations on future program enhancements.
Requirements
- Extensive experience leading US benefits programs in a global organization.
- Proven people leadership experience with responsibility for managing and developing teams.
- Strong knowledge of US benefits legislation and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing complex vendor relationships and benefits operations.
- Ability to influence and partner effectively with senior executives and business leaders.
- Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
