Looking to join an award winning recruitment agency?

Georgia (right) and Emily joined Oakleaf Partnership to learn the ropes of HR Recruitment. As the end of our financial year approaches they wanted to take the time to reflect on their first few months.

Georgia

I came to Oakleaf with just under a year’s recruitment experience and quickly got stuck in learning all about HR and what it entails to be an effective Recruitment Consultant at Oakleaf. My first three months were focused on completing a structured module by module training programme as well as on the job (desk) training. I was then quickly made responsible for identifying, attracting and managing a database of HR talent (our candidate pool) covering Financial and Professional Services. With support from my manager and the team, I also used my training to build relationships with new clients, pairing up where possible with other consultants across the business.

One of the things I love about working at Oakleaf is the self-motivation and desire to succeed that each consultant has, and how well everyone supports each other from a work and personal perspective. The consultants at Oakleaf are proactive, enthusiastic and genuinely care about the candidate/client experience that we provide. I’m really looking forward to continuing to build upon what I’ve already learned and, as we move into a new financial year, I’m excited to see how I can continue to grow my desk and market.

Emily

After graduating from the University of Exeter last summer I was keen to secure a role in either HR or recruitment, so Oakleaf was the perfect fit for me.

We really focus on having strong relationships with our customers, so I often speak to and meet with both candidates and clients. When managing vacancies, I am responsible for liaising with the clients to fully understand the role, creating job descriptions, producing a candidate shortlist, coordinating interviews and negotiating/delivering offers.

Despite having no experience in recruitment or HR prior, I was made to feel supported and comfortable with specialist training and the support of my colleagues. It’s a really fast paced, vibrant environment with loads of opportunities to develop and progress within the company. Oakleaf have allowed me to have autonomy and responsibility, giving me the opportunity to work on roles from early on and build up relationships with both clients and candidates.

If you have previous recruitment experience, we are looking for another Georgia or Emily to work on a fast paced Junior Interim desk. Please get in touch with SarahAlexander@oakleafpartnership.com to find out more about these opportunities.
