On November 19th, Riley Garnett and Stefan Schneider hosted a media and tech industry breakfast roundtable for talent acquisition leaders and professionals. As a smaller, more intimate group, everyone was able to get some meaningful airtime, and we had an incredibly engaging and lively discussion.
Our conversation centered on the real challenges TA teams are navigating right now: shifting hiring volumes, the pressure to do more with leaner teams, and the growing expectations around speed, data, and stakeholder enablement. Participants compared what they’re seeing across the media and tech landscape, from the continued normalization of demand after the pandemic hiring surge to the evolving profile of talent that companies are prioritizing.
We also explored how AI is reshaping sourcing, screening, and workforce planning, along with the ethical considerations and operational safeguards needed to use it responsibly. Despite the complexity of the moment, the group shared a sense of optimism and a commitment to evolving TA practices to meet the needs of the business while maintaining a strong candidate experience.
The best part of the morning was the openness of the group. Everyone brought thoughtful perspectives, candid insights, and a willingness to challenge old assumptions. We left energized, aligned, and already thinking about future sessions to keep this dialogue going.
We’ll continue to host similar breakfast panels in the coming months. We thank our guests for sharing their insights and perspectives transparently.
