This edition of “Movers and Shakers” reflects the cut in HR hiring by banks, especially retail ones, over the winter.
For those seeking a new opportunity, and for recruitment agencies, January, not April, was the cruellest month. Continued restructuring and concerns over the euro meant few new openings were announced. The position improved later in the year but other branches of financial services hog the limelight of this quarter’s edition. That said, specialist recruiters have hardly been idle.
Oakleaf Partnership placed Lynda Henty, previously managing director HR UK at Société Generale, as head of HR at the asset management house Kedge Capital. In January it placed Robert Kempster, who had been vice president, workforce analytics technology at Credit Suisse, at Nomura International as global equities HR, business intelligence. It also orchestrated Simon Rogers’ transition from RBS to the insurer Aviva as head of global mobility, and the placement of Simon Munro, formerly an HR business partner at UBS, in a similar role at BP.
Other Oakleaf placements included Tracey Corney’s move from an HR manager role at HSBC to being HR relationship manager at Standard Chartered Bank and the appointment of Erica Princen, who had been an HR business partner (HRBP) at BNP Paribas- fixed income, to an HRBP role at Société Generale. Oakleaf also placed Heather Porter, previously a change manager at Credit Suisse, at Citi as employee services relationship management head. Punam Dave, who had been talent manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region at the management consultancy Oliver Wyman, was paced at the built asset consultancy EC Harris as recruitment and resourcing lead.
