This will be my fifth year with Oakleaf Partnership and hasn’t time flown? I arrived in the UK enthusiastic and excited to develop my career in the world of recruitment. After a few false starts (having my wallet stolen out of my handbag at the Itsu by Holborn tube station right before I was about to head off to the Isle of White Festival…) I started at Oakleaf and found my home away from home. I was responsible for the junior HR market specialising in temporary and contract assignments and enjoyed this role for three and a half years, during which time I was promoted to Senior Consultant.
Having built a strong network across the junior market I felt it was time for a new challenge and in January 2015 I was given the opportunity to move into the reward and analytics team. I am now responsible for all interim and contract assignments from junior analyst to senior executive hires across this specialism.
I enjoy spending time socialising with my friends normally with a glass of wine in hand, watching rugby union and keeping fit. I try to get back to Australia once a year to get my needed sun-injection and to play with my Boxer dog called George!
Areas I typically deal with are:
• Reward & HR Analytics
• Regulations and Governance
• Cash Compensation
• Equity and Share Plan Management
• Total Reward
• Executive Compensation
• Expatriate Tax / Global Mobility / International Assignments
• Systems – HRIS, Learning Management and Applicant Tracking
• Business Analysts / Reward Project Management
Last Wednesday Oakleaf Partnership hosted our annual Summer Interim Drinks at the Anthologist and it lived up to its reputation!
What is happening in the world of the Reward Interim?
The internet allows recruiters to reach a much bigger pool of candidates, as well as helping candidates find out about a greater number of jobs.
Companies are still failing to embrace flexible working legislation, according to a survey by Regus.
Kate has helped me with several executive level interim searches. Kate is knowledgeable, thorough, approachable and honest. Moreover, Kate keeps in contact whether the market is up or down and whether your CV is in demand or not. There is a lot more to Kate than just the job.
Greg Strachan – HSBC
Kate recently helped to source and negotiate my next career move. Right from the outset, I found her guidance helpful and proactive. Kate continously kept me updated on the progress of my applications, always without prompting. In summary, I would highly recommend Kate to either those recruiting or seeking a new role, due to her professional, combined with personal, approach. A pleasure to work with.
Nicola Elder - Group Benefits Manager, Dixons Carphone
"Kate has proved that she is not only a recruitment consultant but also a confident and very experienced advisor that takes into account the needs and interests of the business, as well as my perspective as the candidate. We spent a lot of time discussing directions in which my career could go and opportunities the financial services sector might be able to offer me. Kate never sent me to an interview for which we weren’t sure I was a good match for. She has a very good understanding of her client’s expectations, always providing accurate and very thorough information to me. She has a very good understanding of her client’s expectations, always providing accurate and very thorough information to the candidate. It helped me to go for each interview with confidence and excitement, knowing that I was a good match for the roles I was offered."

Kate is an expert in the industry. Working with her closely, she effectively achieved our recruitment objectives with her in-depth knowledge in the HR market, extensive business network, strong interpersonal skills and most importantly, great enthusiasm and undeterred perseverance. I would not hesitate to recommend Kate to anyone who is looking for a true professional business partner in recruitment.

Kate is one of the best Consultants I have had the pleasure of working with. She is driven, ambitious and tenacious. She is committed to both her candidates and clients, understanding their needs and delivering an excellent service.
Luke Freestone, placed candidate, BAML
From having been both a client and a candidate of Kate's/Oakleaf she has always been professional, informative, objective and always happy to give advice. With excellent market knowledge and a genuine interest in doing the best for client and candidate alike I couldn't recommend Kate and Oakleaf enough.
James Conradi – HR Assistant BNYM
I have really enjoyed working with Kate, who was very friendly and pro-active. Kate understood all my queries, got back to me promptly, and provided an exceptional level of client service that I have never encountered before when working with recruitment agencies. For once I didn't feel like a potential deal, and felt like I was treated as a client.
Nigel- Reward Manager, Smith Williamson
Kate was fantastic and constantly kept me in the loop when any suitable positions came to hand.
Matt Adams - Placed Candidate
When I commenced my search for contract/perm work I registered with a total of four agencies. Oakleaf and specifically the service provided by Kate was by far and away the most superior. Kate maintained regular contact, always followed up so I knew what was happening with all the possible roles. Kate is also very positive and contributed to a overall excellent experience for me as a candidate.
