After finishing my degree I moved to New Zealand in the beginning of 2017. Unsure of what I wanted to do as a career, I went to a few recruitment agencies with the aim of doing some interim work. While interviewing with one of them we got onto the topic of recruitment as a career and willing to give anything a go at that point, I started with them a week later and fortunately I loved it!
Having spent 2 and a half years in NZ I am excited to be back home in London and to grow upon my recruitment experience here at Oakleaf.
Aside from recruitment, I enjoy oil painting in my spare time. I am also a massive foodie and not ashamed to say that NZ turned me into a bit of a coffee nerd, I'm rarely without one in my hand!
Jodie Wolrich speaks to Linda Burt...
A very on point piece from Jodie Wolrich on the benefits of creating a more inclusive recruitment process.
Jodie Wolrich has been getting to grips with the increasing challenges facing Payroll leaders and offers advice on the key questions they need to be asking to gain increased support from the business.
In an age where more and more companies are advertising themselves, what are the advantages of working with an agency rather than simply applying directly?
“Jodie recently helped me find my placement at LSE. The whole experience was excellent, Jodie was professional and kept the lines of communication open at all times. Jodie has been more than helpful and I would highly recommend her services. Thanks again Jodie!!"
Julie Gould, Head of Payroll Services, The London School of Economics
I have worked with Jodie on a number of occasions whilst looking to place Payroll professionals in my team. I have always found Jodie to be very professional, exceptionally proactive and really easy to work with. Jodie takes the time to understand both you as an individual and your brief, so that she is only putting forward candidates that she believes will be a good team fit and also right for the role in question. In my most recent hire, I wasn't quite comfortable with some of the candidates I had interviewed, and Jodie urged me to meet a candidate she had referred to me, but I had initially rejected. It was clear she was really confident about this candidate, and her instincts were right - we ultimately hired that candidate over all others seen. What I also liked in this process was that when I fed back to Jodie on my comments of candidates seen, she clearly fed this back to the candidates as well, as when they returned for future stage interviews, the candidates were aware of the feedback raised, and had taken it on board in a positive way. I would absolutely recommend Jodie to any company looking to hire HR/Payroll professionals.
