After graduating from University with a Politics degree I was undecided what to do, so spent some time travelling and temping. I then fell into publishing and started my early career working in magazine production for 3 years or so. I enjoyed this role, and seemed to have a knack for building relationships and assisting with selling the advertising space so I decided to combine these skills and move into recruitment and haven’t looked back since!.
I started off in secretarial recruitment in London, where I built a successful desk from scratch and stayed for 7 years or so. I left to move into more senior/professional recruitment and found myself working in financial recruitment. Whilst I enjoyed financial recruitment I missed recruiting and matching on the softer skills I had so enjoyed with secretarial recruitment so when the opportunity arose to join Oakleaf and move into HR recruitment I jumped at it.
It was very important for me to work for a company with a strong reputation and a specialist in its area. It’s growing brand and passionate and positive team also appealed.
HR Recruitment for me is the perfect combination of professional recruitment sourcing for an exciting industry where skill set, personality and organisational fit all come into play. I will be specifically working on contract and interim roles in the commerce and industry team.
Outside of work my passion is scuba diving. As well as diving in tropical waters I am a member of a UK dive club and often spend my weekends diving in the South Coast, glamorous locations include quarries, wrecks and piers!. When not diving I also enjoy running, cooking, and the cinema.
