Oakleaf are delighted to have been certified as a “Disability Confident” employer!

Oakleaf Partnership, the UK’s leading HR recruiter, has been recognised as a Disability Confident Employer by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Nicola Grimshaw, Joint CEO, said that the recognition is a result of Oakleaf’s culture which encourages the inclusion of disabled talent in the workplace and the company’s commitment to influence hiring managers where needed to consider disabled talent for appointments.

Oakleaf continues to develop a program to educate its own employees to be Disability Confident when it comes to attracting and working with disabled candidates. The company is committed to work with its clients and develop and share best-practice throughout the business community with specific queries regarding disability and associated reasonable adjustments.

Nicola further commented: “We are thrilled to be recognised as one of the first Disability Confident Employers in the recruitment sector. The Government has committed to halving the disability employment gap – that’s getting more than one million disabled people in to work. We are committed to work with our clients to ensure that people who have a physical or mental impairment are given a for chance in the recruitment process. We understand that 73% of employers who made work related adjustments for employees say it was ‘very’ or ‘quite easy’ to do so and we want to continue to promote such best practice with our client and candidates’’.
