HR Manager

Our client, an international bank with its Head Office in Asia, is looking for an HR Manager with strong retail banking background, to centralise and organise its UK HR operations. You will be responsible for about 60 staff and report directly to the General Manager.
Key responsibilities include the following:

To develop and oversee the provision of a professional HR service at two sites in the UK covering:
Performance management;
Employee development;
Training;
Recruitment;
Employee relations;
Compensation and benefits;
Payroll administration;
Policy and strategy development. -
Ensuring Company compliance on all employment law including working conditions, disciplinary and grievance procedures, equal opportunities, redundancies, paternity pay and maternity rights

Work closely with senior managers & provide expert guidance, coaching and support on the full range of HR activities (including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, performance management, etc.)

Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures to ensure effective, fair and consistent management of staff throughout the organisation

Monitor employment legislation and adapting Company policy & procedure as needed

Organise and oversee recruitment & selection of high calibre staff. This includes producing job descriptions, placing adverts, working with recruitment consultancies and organising interviews

Oversee the maintenance of complete, up to date and accurate staff records
As the successful candidate, you will have:
•Previous HR management experience in the banking field
•CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience)
•Up to date knowledge of UK employment law
The ability to organise and centralise HR responsibilities
•Confidence and strength of character to persuade and put changes in place
•Flexible and able to adapt to the needs of the business
•The ability to adapt manner to deal with employees and mediate at all levels including senior management up to board level
Salary on offer is circa £50,000 per annum in addition to competitive benefits including 12.5% pension, private health care and a season ticket loan.
