We have a fantastic part time (3 days a week) opportunity for an International Mobility Officer/ Global Mobility Officer with International assignments and Expatriate management experience to join a leading European Bank with a worldwide reach. If successful, reporting into our clients Tax and Operations Manager you will assist in managing the expatriate and HR tax areas, including the provision of in-house tax advice and ensure the compliance with UK tax legislation relating to expatriates and short-term business visitors.

Key responsibilities will also include:

·         Management of the procedure for short-term business visitors (STBV), including tracking to the UK, understanding of HM Revenue and Customs statutory regulations and the preparation of statutory reporting and tax treaty claims.

·         Preparation of tax simulations and employer costs in relation to expatriates coming to the UK.

·         Understanding of dual contract arrangements and associated tax implications.

·         Liaise with HR Generalists to assist in contract structuring, and monitor secondment contract end dates and determine ongoing arrangements for expatriates and STBV.

·         Responsibility for our clients HR expatriate suspense account, ensuring monthly reconciliation is carried out and verification reporting is provided.

·         Completion of monthly reconciliation in relation to the expatriate tax accruals, including preparation of monthly tax computations and provide analysis between payroll tax deductions and payments on account.

·         Ensure that payments and reimbursements are made for utility bills, council tax, school fees, travel invoices etc in relation to expatriates, including appropriate taxation where applicable.

·         Conduct arrival meetings with Expats-In on their first week, including an employment related tax discussion and assessment of the expatriate secondment simulation.

·         Liaise with our clients Payroll Officer to ensure all relevant expatriate elements are processed via the monthly payroll.

·         Preparation of compensation and benefit data in connection with the annual tax return service, including all relevant assumptions for the basis of assessment.

·         Prepare applications to HMRC for Foreign Service Tax Relief and for S690 Authority approvals and renewals.

 

To be successful you must have Knowledge of UK tax and social security legislation, an understanding of modified PAYE schemes and associated statutory reporting.
