We have a great opportunity for a Learning and Development Advisor to join a leading global insurer and reinsurer based in the City.  Reporting into and working closely with the fantastic L&D Manager, you will provide appropriate learning solutions to meet individual, team and business needs across the UK.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with the L&D Manager to maintain clients core curriculum in the UK, taking responsibility for the end to end process (from scheduling dates to evaluating programmes) and making changes to programme content and schedule where appropriate
  • Working in partnership with specific areas of the business, acting in an internal consultancy capacity, to ensure that L&D offers high quality, innovative and cost effective solutions to enable employees to develop their performance and add value to business results
  • Manage and run the orientation process in the UK to ensure new hires settle quickly into their role and the Company. This will include briefing ‘trainers' in advance, assembling materials and amending the content as appropriate
  • Responsible for ensuring that all feedback and evaluation of training and development activity is captured and recorded in a consistent manner so as to facilitate the production of meaningful and accurate management information
  • Maintain effective working relationships with a range of external partners and suppliers, monitoring performance in order to optimise the value to the business from these external relationships
  • Responsible for training & competence requirements, monitoring and maximizing the level of professional training and qualifications
  • Co-ordinate the Company's performance management/appraisal process, ensuring that the documentation and guidelines are up to date and that individual development needs are identified
  • Support the recruitment and development of graduates on the client Development Programme, having day to day responsibility for the management of the training programme and training providers. Monitor content to ensure it is of a high quality and make recommendations for change as necessary
  • Deliver internal training courses as required
  • Keep internal and external L&D/Career Development website up to date
  • Provide day to day Supervisory support to L&D administrator
  • Be part of HR led projects as required

Knowledge and Skills:

It is essential that the post holder is fully CIPD qualified.
You will have previous Learning and Development experience gained from a professional environment, as well as the gravitas to build relationships with senior members of the business. 

 

Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of giving a first class, high touch service are key.

Solid communication and initiative as well as negotiation skills are a must. You will be comfortable taking ownership for work, identifying the need for action, whilst working effectively within a team.
 

This is an excellent role for someone who is keen to develop and get exposure to all areas of Learning and Development. The L&D Manager gives flexibility to run with projects yet is there for advice and guidance.
