Our client is a leading investment banking group specialising in the investment opportunities created by the low carbon economy. They are looking for a VP of HR (with a reward specialism).

Description of the Role:

Reporting into the Head of Human Resources as part of a new flat team of 4 HR Professionals, this role will be responsible for partnering across the business in devising, developing and delivering across the full spectrum of HR, but with key responsibility for Reward.

 

The company provides the opportunity to work with a workforce combining the demanding and motivated ethos of a leading financial firm with an ethical commitment to the creation of a clean, low carbon environment.  Based in London, they have offices in Beijing, Boston and Washington.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Compensation & Benefits/Reward

 

Lead on Compensation and Reward issues including: -

 

  • Development of reward strategy
  • Oversight/management of Deferred Compensation and Carried Interest arrangements
  • Working with offshore trust
  • Salary and total remuneration benchmarking against the external market.
  • Compensation and data modelling
  • With the Head of HR, managing the annual compensation review process
  • Leading on compensation issues for staff in China, US and Europe

  

  

The team will provide a full HR delivery - this will involve elements of all of the following, as well as additional ad hoc HR projects:-

 

Employee Relations

 

  • Management of disciplinary and grievance cases through to a successful conclusion
  • Providing appropriate people management coaching and advice to managers
  • Liaise where necessary with external advisors

 

Talent Management and development

 

  • Working with and improving performance management system and process
  • Close involvement in review and promotion process
  • Develop both internal and external training delivery
  • Work with business teams on development and learning goals

 

Corporate culture, HR Policy and Procedure

 

  • Maintain and update the Policies and Procedures

 

Resourcing

 

  • Managing the sourcing and hiring process for selected senior hires

 

Key competencies and qualifications include:

 

Degree level and ideally CIPD qualified, the HR Manager will have significant demonstrable experience across all areas of Human Resources with a strong emphasis on Analytics or Compensation & Benefits/Reward.  This will ideally have been gained in a financial or professional services environment

 

  • Ability to build relationships and influence across all levels of the business
  • Ability to manage and prioritise numerous and often conflicting objectives
  • Excellent analytics and attention to detail.
  • Able to operate independently and use judgment and initiative
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong counselling, coaching, influencing and advising skills
